ELECTION NEWS

 

Tuesday, April 4, 2017 is Election Day.  Patrons of the Adair County R-II School District will be    voting to elect three school board members.

 

This year we had four candidates file for the three available positions.  Those who have filed include incumbent Keith L. Turner, incumbent Alissa Garlock, Sara Erwin, and Becky Reeves.

 

Please remember to vote!

 

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

 

We will be conducting our annual Kindergarten registration on Friday, April 28th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the elementary school. All district children who will be 5 years old prior to August 1, 2017 are eligible to register for Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.  Please bring your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of a vision test from an optometrist or physician with you on that day.

SHOUT CLUB NEWS

 

Shout Club will be sending a small group of students to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia on April 21st.  Students and advisors will take a tour of the facility and then spend the afternoon and evening preparing and serving dinner to the families of the house.  Shout Club is looking forward to the opportunity to serve and make a difference for these families.

 

TIGER PRIDE

 

Congratulations to Hailey Lawrence, Kacie Mihalovich, and Saydie Potter on being recognized by the Kirksville Rotary Club at their 2017 youth recognition banquet.

 

The Tri-County Conference Band met to    rehearse all day on Saturday, March 4 in Meadville and performed in Meadville, Bucklin, and Linn County on Monday, March 6.

 

Congratulations to the Junior High Academic Bowl team on a great season!  They finished first in the Tri-County Conference with a  record of 8-0. They also finished second at the conference tournament after suffering back-to-back losses to Meadville.  Team members include Ty Bushnell, Tanna Garlock, John Gerhold, Brandon Jochimsen, Justin McHenry, Connor Melendez, Austin Ray, and Noah Reeves. Tammy Wolter is their sponsor.  Congratulations also to Ty Bushnell for making the All-Conference Junior High Academic Team.

 

Congratulations to the Brashear Band for earning a 1, the highest rating, at the MSHSAA State Large Group Festival held Friday, March 24 at Hannibal LaGrange University. Band members who performed under the direction of Miss Jessie O’Dell included Levi Blankenship, Zoe Blankenship, Kyleigh Cima, Tanna Garlock, Brandon Jochimsen, Morgan Magruder, Cody Mallett, Kameren McGinnis, Madeline McGinnis, Justin McHenry, Connor Melendez, Mechelia Potter, Saydie Potter, Wyatt Potter, and Jackie Sidenstricker. The band will be sharing the pieces they performed at contest during our annual Spring Concert that begins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20th. Be sure to mark your calendar.

 

BREAKFAST/LUNCH MENU

 

Breakfast each day includes fruit, milk and juice. Students may choose cereal instead of the breakfast item offered. The following items are     offered daily for students to choose from in lieu of the lunch entrée: yogurt or a WOWBUTTER® (peanut butter replacement) and jelly sandwich.

 

April 3-7

Monday: Biscuits & gravy/Corn dog, potato wedges, peas, mandarin oranges, cookie, milk

Tuesday: Breakfast bites, syrup/Mr. Rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, pineapple, pudding, milk

Wednesday: Pancake, syrup, sausage/Nachos, lettuce, carrots, peaches, brownie, milk

Thursday: French toast sticks, syrup/Tenderloin, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, pears, pumpkin bar, milk

Friday: Donut, yogurt/Garlic pizza bread, ravioli, corn, applesauce, rice krispie treat, milk

 

April 10-14

Monday: Cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bar, toast/Chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, peas, mandarin oranges, cookie, milk

Tuesday: Biscuit, egg, sausage, cheese/Country fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, pears, banana bread, milk

Wednesday: Waffle, syrup, sausage/Baked potato bar, corn bread, cottage cheese, beans, strawberries, cake, milk

Thursday: Breakfast pizza/Pizza, chips & cheese, lettuce, peaches, brownie, milk

Friday: No School

 

April 17-21

Monday: No School

Tuesday: No School

Wednesday: Biscuits & gravy/Hamburger, cheesy potatoes, corn, fruit, cookie, milk

Thursday: Bagel, muffin, Go-gurt®/Chicken fajitas, rice, lettuce, veggies, strawberries, cake, milk

Friday: Cinnamon roll/Walking taco, refried beans, lettuce, applesauce, ice cream, milk

 

April 24-28

Monday: French toast sticks, syrup/Grilled cheese, soup, carrots, mandarin    oranges, cookie, milk

Tuesday: Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast/Hot pocket,   potato wedges, green beans, peaches, brownie, milk

Wednesday: Cheese    omelet, toast/Spaghetti, bread stick, cottage cheese, corn, lettuce, strawberries, pudding, milk

Thursday: Breakfast pizza/Pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, pineapple, cheesecake, milk

Friday: Long john, Go-gurt®/Nacho pie or sloppy joe,    lettuce, cottage cheese,    applesauce, rice krispie treat, milk

 

SPRING ASSESSMENT

Your child will soon be taking the Spring Assessment.  You may assist us in the process by seeing that your child has plenty of sleep, has a good breakfast, and has a good mental attitude preceding test days.  Also, please do not schedule any doctor/dentist/hair appointments during testing hours.  Test results help us      provide a more complete education to all students.
