ALEX’S LEMONADE

Thank you to all families who participated in the October fundraiser for Alex's Lemonade Stand.

We raised $197.70 for this important cause.  Watch for more ways to contribute after Christmas.

PAT NEWS

Parents as Teachers families have been very busy.  In October we had a “Fall Fun” group meeting and the children made some wonderful crafts.  In November we partnered up with the Elementary and got involved with Reading Week.  Each child had a packet to work on and they received prizes at the end of the week for doing the activities and reading.  What a great time we had!  On December 15th we will be having “Santa’s Workshop” from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Santa will be stopping by to visit the children.  I will be sending registration forms in a few weeks.

If you would like to enroll your child in Parents as Teachers or would like more information, please contact me at school, 660-323-5272 ext. 33.

TIGER PRIDE PROGRAM NEWS

We have enjoyed a beautiful fall with lots of time on the playground!  Although there is still some fall left to enjoy, it is time to remind families of procedures should the weather become inclement.  If school is cancelled or dismissed early, Tiger Pride will not be held.  In case of early dismissals, Mrs. Kerby will make calls to families to determine plans for the children who were scheduled to attend after-school.  For information about cancellations and early-dismissals, check with the school's web site, KTVO television, KHQA television, WGEM television, KIRX radio, KTUF radio, KRXL radio, KRES radio of Moberly, KMEM radio of Memphis, and KZBK radio of Brookfield.

YEARBOOK SALES INFORMATION

Yearbook sales drive began on November 1st, 2008.  The price of the yearbooks will be the same as last year.  Yearbooks bought between November 1st and January 31st will cost $45.  During the month of February, the yearbooks will cost $55.  All yearbooks purchased after February 28 will cost $60.  Please buy them as soon as possible.  You may purchase them from Renee in the superintendent’s office.  Please remember to hold on to your receipt.  Additionally, you may choose to purchase an individualized nametag for an extra $5.

Also, the yearbook class is offering the opportunity for family members to purchase space in the yearbook for $35 per 1/8 of a page in order to communicate a special message to their loved one.  Attention senior parents:  This would be a wonderful opportunity to specialize your child’s last BHS yearbook.  You may design the space or you can have the yearbook staff create one for you.

If you would like to purchase an 1/8 page ($35), 1/2 page ($125), or full page ($250) ad for a business, please contact the yearbook staff at Brashear High School or matt_copeland@brashear.k12.mo.us for more information.

Lastly, if any students, faculty, staff, or community members have any quality pictures that might be worthy of being included in the yearbook, please bring them by the school or email them to me as a .jpeg or .gif file.

Thanks for your help and support in order to create a quality yearbook.
