2010 RESULTS
OF APR
State education
officials have released final Annual Performance Reports (APR) for Missouri school
districts, providing an update on how districts are meeting state standards for
academic performance.
The APR
provides a five-year progress report on how each school district is doing as
measured by the 14 academic performance standards set by the Missouri
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
“The APR is a
key element of Missouri’s accountability system for public schools,”
Commissioner of Education Chris L. Nicastro said. “It is significant because it enables state and local school officials
to monitor trends and ensure their schools are on the right path.”
Unlike the
reports issued under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, Missouri’s reporting
is based on multiple measures of performance over time. This provides a more comprehensive picture
of a school district’s overall performance, she said.
For the past
decade, the APR has been part of the Missouri School Improvement Program
(MSIP), which began 20 years ago and is the foundation of the state
accreditation process for schools. It
provides a practical tool for boards of education, school administrators and
staff to identify strengths and needs in their school districts and to focus
their efforts on improving instruction.
The report
measures the district in each of the following categories. Each of the Performance Measures for K-12
districts will be designated either “Met” or “Not Met” according to the
published Scoring Guide for that school year.
MAP Grade 3-5 Mathematics Met
MAP Grades 3-5 Communication Arts Met
MAP Grades 6-8 Mathematics

14 out of 14
performance standards were met as criteria for the Missouri School Improvement
Program through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Based on the
final APR scores, our district qualified for the state’s “Distinction in
Performance” recognition. This recognition is reserved for K-12 school
districts that meet at least 13 out of 14 performance standards, including all
six MAP standards.
We are very
pleased to have achieved this high mark.
As pleased as we are with these results, we know that there is still
room for improvement and we plan to look closely at the results and make plans
to address areas of need.

Lastly, if any students, faculty, staff, or community members have any quality pictures that might be worthy of being included in the yearbook, please bring them by the school or email them to me as a .jpeg or .gif file.
Thanks for your help and support in order to create a quality yearbook.

The reports are designed to satisfy state and federal reporting requirements for the disclosure of statistics about students, staff, finances, academic achievement, and other indicators. The information is compiled from data reported to the Department by local school districts.
