your child MUST have an updated MSHSAA pre-participation physical
evaluation on file with the district before he/she can begin practice. If he/she does not have a physical, he/she will
not be allowed to participate. Student signatures are required on pages 1, 3, and 4. Parent signatures are required on pages 1
and 4. Be sure to mark your calendar so
that you can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Students may pick up the MSHSAA physical

3 BUS ROUTES FOR 14-15 SCHOOL YEAR
We
are still very much considering going down to 3 bus routes for the 2014-2015
school year. Currently, we are
considering 2 different options.
Option 1: The current 4 routes
would be combined down to 3 with the students currently on Bus #41 being moved
to other routes. Other riders could be
moved as well, but the majority would come from Bus #41. This option would increase the number of
students on each bus and therefore increase the routes driving time. We would be looking at pick up times being
15-20 minutes earlier and drop off times being 15-20 minutes later for some
students, especially those on the north routes.
Option 2: Again the routes would be combined down to 3, but instead of
picking students up at their house in the morning, there would be designated
pick up spots. For the afternoon
routes, students would be dropped off at their homes. So, in reality, we would be running "hard surface"
routes each morning of every school day and normal routes in the afternoon. This option would allow some of the routes
to leave 15-20 minutes later in the morning.
But, as parents/guardians, you would have to make arrangements to get
your child/children to the pick up spots every morning.
As
always, I am open to listening to ideas and suggestions. Going with 3 bus routes will save the
district money, but that is not the primary reason for the proposed
change. We are currently running 4
routes with 65+ passenger buses and are only averaging 20 students per
bus. This is the main reason for our
actions. A change will save wear and
tear on our buses, be a better use of district funds, and still provide a safe
route to school for our students.
Please
contact me if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas we may not have
considered.
