A+ SCHOOLS PROGRAM
Many Missourians see the A+ Schools Program as a scholarship program; it was created by the Outstanding Schools Act of 1993 as an incentive for improving Missouri’s high schools.
The primary goal of the A+ Schools Program is to ensure that all students who graduate from Missouri high schools are well prepared to pursue advanced education and employment.
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
Students who graduate from a designated A+ high school may qualify for a state-paid financial incentive to attend any public community college or career/technical school in Missouri if the students successfully meet the following requirements:
A+ SCHOOLS DESIGNATION
Once a high school successfully meets the program requirements, it is formally designated by the State Board of Education.
Adair County R-2 Brashear is working toward becoming a designated high school and all freshmen and sophomores and their parents are encouraged to see Mrs. Cheryl Reeves, A+ Coordinator, to pick up a Parent/Student handbook and student eligibility form. Please feel free to call the school for information at 660-323-5272 ext. 15.
21ST CCLC BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL NEWS
I hope you're having a wonderful fall! We're having a great time in Tiger Pride solving mysteries together using literature, math and science skills! November and December's theme will be "Transportation!" Thanks to everyone who attended our Lights On Afterschool event! We gathered 28 rolls of duct tape (used to create all kinds of fun items and correlating with our character building "Sticky Situation" discussions) and $17.00 in donations. Approximately 80 people attended and good food and fun was had by all! I have just 2 reminders to pass along: 1) There will be no Tiger Pride following the early dismissal on November 21 (to allow for more safe travel time for families and staff), and 2) I have been sending out letters regarding licensure forms I still need from certain families. Please turn those in ASAP as our licensing depends on complete files for each student enrolled! Thanks for entrusting your children to us! Wendy Kerby
