Brashear Visits Bucklin Tuesday
The Tigers and Bulldogs split in Tri-County Conference action.
The Brashear Lady Tigers got off to an uncharacteristically slow
start at Bucklin Tuesday night. Midway through the 1st quarter
they found themselves down 8-2 to the host Lady Bulldogs. From
that point, Brashear fired up putting up 26 unanswered points to
go into the locker room with a 28-8 lead. Brashear continued
their momentum in the 2nd half winning the contest by a score of
50-20. Kimberly Elsea, ChaRae Cole, and Hailee Kelsey were in
double digits with 12, 11, and 10 points. Christina Scudder had
8, Jessi Hill had 7, and Chelsey Collop scored 2 points. Bonnisue
Thomas led Bucklin with 10 points, Heather Main had 4, and Paige
Casady, Amber Liebhart, and Daphne Walton each had 2 points.
The boys contest started with Bucklin gaining an early lead, but
Brashear stayed within 8 points, 27-19 going into half-time.
Things began to unravel for Brashear in the 2nd half as Bucklin
extended their lead and came away with the 57-33 win. Kale Watson
led Brashear with 12 points, David Anderson had 8, Jacob Shipman
had 6, Josiah Belzer had 3, and Kale Moore and Tyler Killen each
had 2 points. Bevier had 3 players in double digits with Chad
Jackson having 19, RayBuck Thomas with 13, and Ben Williams with
12 points. Ethan Jackson had 8, Jared Main had 3, and Hagen
McCollum scored 2 points.
Brashear will host Novinger Friday night in conference action.
