Brashear Visits Macon County Friday
Both teams wrap up conference play and their regular seasons on
the eve of district play in Green City Saturday.
The Brashear Lady Tigers jumped out to a early lead against the
Macon County Lady Raiders Friday night ending the 1st quarter up
17 to 8. Things quickly turned around in the 2nd quarter as Macon
County outscored Brashear 14-12 pulling within 7, 29-22 at
halftime. Brashear came out fired up in the 2nd half scoring 23
points in the 3rd quarter while holding Macon County to only 12
2nd half points. Brashear's final margin of victory was 68-34.
All 7 Brashear players scored with all 5 starters in double
digits. Jessi Hill had 16, Hailee Kelsey had 14,ChaRae Cole had
13, Kimberly Elsea had 12, Christina Scudder had 10, Chelsey
Collop had 2, and Ashley Clarkson had 1 point. Scudder had a
double-double pulling down 12 rebounds. Macon County was led by
Kayla Farrington with 15, Samantha Hogenson with 10, Crystal
Martin with 4, Kimberly Kelso with 3, and Lucinda Watson with 2
points.
In the boy's game, Macon County outscored Brashear taking a 15-10
lead after 1 quarter and a 35-18 lead at halftime. Brashear
continued to fade in the 3rd quarter before rallying in the 4th
quarter to outscore Macon County 21-20. Macon County's final
margin of victory was 73-50. Brashear was led by Jacob Shipman
with 22, Andrew Linhart had 14, Kale Watson had 8, and Tyler
Killen had 6 points. For Macon County, Joey Pate had 23, Camden
Levett had 18, Corbin Coe and Josh Lusher both had 8, Jason
Anderson and Zach Martin both had 5, Andy Thompson had 4, and
James Rowe had 2 points.
