Brashear Hosts North Shelby Tuesday
The Tigers and Raiders split a pair of games in non-conference
action.
In the evening opener, the North Shelby Lady Raiders got on the
board first for a 2-0 lead, but the Lady Tigers quickly answered
with a couple of buckets of their own. From that point on, it was
a see-saw battle through the entire 1st half of play with the
score knotted 21 all at half-time. Brashear came out a little
stronger in the second half and established a 32-28 lead after 3
eventually notching the 43-35 win. Kimberly Elsea led all scorers
with 16 points for Brashear. Hailee Kelsey added 9, Jessi Hill
had 7, Christina Scudder had 6, and ChaRae Cole had 5 points. For
North Shelby, Allison Peoples had 10, Randi Willey had 9, Haley
Caldwell had 8, and Robin Bichsel and Jillian Yoder had 4 points
each.
In the boy's matchup, North Shelby showed why they are the number
1 seed in District 6. They came out strong and had run up a 47-13
lead by halftime. The second half was more of the same with the
Raiders cruising to a 74-24 win. Andrew Linhart led the Tigers
with 6, Kale Watson had 5, Kale Moore and Jacob Shipman had 4
each, David Anderson had 3, and Shane Miller had 2 points. North
Shelby had a trio of players in double digits as Justin Bevill,
Christopher Perry, and Brett Craigmyle had 19, 18, and 16 points.
Landon Daniel added 9, Michael Stoneburner had 4, Tyler Otto had
3, Brian Trenhaile and Josh McEwen each had 2, and B.R. Parsons
had 1 point.
