Brashear Tournament Wednesday Night Games
Knox County Boys played Douglass, Knox County Girls played
Novinger, and Brashear Boys hosted Novinger.
In the Brashear vs Novinger Boy's game, Novinger jumped out to an
early 17-4 1st quarter lead. By halftime, the lead was still 11,
25-14 in favor of the Wildcats. During the 2nd half, the Tigers
managed to pull within 14 midway through the 4th quarter, but
could do no better than trade buckets with Novinger down the
stretch. As time ticked away, Novinger rebuilt their lead for a
60-39 win. Justin Denton had a monstrous night for Novinger with
35 points. Evan Sthole had 10, Dakota Jacques had 7, and Grant
Daniels and Adam Greathouse each scored 4 points. For Brashear,
Kale Watson had 16 points, Jacob Shipman had 8, Justin Hazen and
Kiley Watson each had 4, Andrew Linhart had 3, and David Anderson
and Tyler Killen each had 2 points.
In girl's action, Knox County and Novinger fought a close battle
through the 1st 3 quarters before Novinger finally managed to
pull ahead and hold on for a 29-24 win. Kourtney Brawner led
Novinger with 13 points, Katelyn Brawner had 8, Katie King had 6,
and Emily Wayman had 2 points. Stephanie Hicks led Knox County
with 14, Miranda James had 5, Billie Mitchell had 3, and Rachel
Delaney had 2 points.
The early boy's game saw Knox County pull away for a 48-36 win
over Douglass. Brett Hamlin and Brett Hunter were both in double
digits for Knox County with 16 and 11 points.
