District Band Competition

22 Area bands competed at Kirksville on March 25th in MSHSAA Districts.

Each spring, MSHSAA hosts music competitions for soloists, ensembles and bands. Last Saturday was the day for high school bands from the Northeast Missouri area to meet for District competition. Each band performed 2 musical selections before a panel of judges, then performed a sight-reading exercise before another panel of judges to get a combined score. Only 4 bands, Clark County, Hannibal, Kirksville, and Macon received the highest rating of I. Only 3 bands, Brashear, Marceline, and North Shelby received II ratings.
