Brashear Visits Macon County Thursday For A Baseball/Softball
Doubleheader.
The Tigers and Raiders Split in Tri-County Conference Action.
The baseball boys took the field for the first game Thursday
night at New Cambria. Brashear got on the scoreboard in the top
of the first when Justin Hazen and Matt Thomas had a single and a
double followed by a Kale Watson sacrifice fly and a Jacob
Shipman RBI double. Macon County's Joey Pate answered with a
lead-off homer in the bottom of the first to make the score 2-1.
Offense was had to come by after the 1st inning except for the
bottom of the 3rd when Macon County's Anderson blasted a 2-run
homer to give Macon County the lead 3-2. Jacob Shipman took the
loss for Brashear striking out 7. Joey Pate struck out 12
Brashear batters in getting the win. Brashear is now 1-1.
The girls game was a 5-inning 14-0 blowout. Brashear got all the
offense they needed in the first inning when Jessi Hill and
Hailee Kelsey started the inning with back to back singles
followed by a Christina Scudder 3-run homer. Scudder then took
the mound in the bottom of the 1st and threw a no-hit shutout
striking out 14 while walking only 1. Brashear continued to pile
up runs with all 9 spots in the lineup scoring during the game.
The Lady Tigers are now 3-3.
Brashear will visit Novinger Tuesday, September 5 for a
Tri-County Conference Baseball/Softball doubleheader.
