Canton Visits Brashear For Varsity/JV Softball
Canton takes advantage of Brashear errors in the varsity game
while Brashear prevails in the JV contest.
The Brashear Lady Tigers hoped their recent back to back wins
over Macon County and Novinger would translate into some
momentum. That theory looked to have some merit until the 3rd
inning when Brashear spotted Canton the usual 3 outs plus 3 more
on errors allowing Canton to push across 4 runs. Brashear rallied
in the 5th when Carmen Woods, Jessi Hill, Hailee Kelsey, and
Christina Scudder reached base and scored with Andrea Reeves
driving in the last 2 two with a hard shot that skipped off the
1st baseman. With the score tied 4-4, things were looking up for
Brashear until the top of the 7th when more Brashear errors
allowed two more Canton runs to come across. Brashear was unable
to get anything going in the bottom of the 7th giving Canton the
6-4 win. Christina Scudder took the loss for Brashear fanning 10.
In the JV game, Brashear outscored Canton 4-0. Brashear will
visit LaPlata Friday for a conference baseball/softball
double-header.
