Marion County at Brashear for a Varsity/JV Softball Doubleheader Monday.
Brashear picks up a pair of wins in non-conference action.
The evening started off with the varsity game between the Lady Mustangs of Marion County and the Lady Tigers of Brashear. Marion County got on the scoreboard first when they turned an infield fly and a walk into a pair of runs. Things started to look up for Brashear in the 3rd when Stephanie Linhart ripped a line drive down the 3rd base line for a leadoff double, but the Lady Tigers were unable to bring her run in and still trailed 2-0 at the end of 3 innings. Brashear mounted another attack in the 4th when Jessi Hill blasted a 1-out homer to lead the way to a 4 run inning. The Lady Tigers put up another 4 runs in the 5th on the way to a 9-2 victory. Christina Scudder picked up the win striking out 10.
In the JV contest, Brashear scored a run in the 1st and another in the 2nd to pick up the 3-inning 2-0 win. Shanea Rusk got the win for the Lady Tigers.
Brashear is now 7-5 and will visit Bucklin Tuesday for a softball/baseball double-header.
