Knox County Hosts Brashear For JV/V Softball
Knox pulls out a pair of come from behind victories.
Extra inning games haven't been kind to the Brashear Lady Tigers this year. They started their season with an 11 inning loss to Scotland County and more recently lost to Bevier Friday in 10 innings. It looked like Brashear might spoil Knox County's Senior Night Monday when they pushed across a run in the top of the 9th to take a 6-5 lead. That lead didn't last long however as Knox pushed across the tying and winning runs on a 2 out, 2 strike ground ball error. Pitcher Brittany Miller had a double for Knox County. Hailee Kelsey and Ashley Clarkson each had triples, and Christina Scudder had a double for Brashear.
In the JV contest, Knox also pulled out a come from behind win pushing across 3 runs in the final frame to win 9-8.
Brashear and Knox County will meet again Wednesday October 4th in first round District play at LaPlata.
