Brashear at LaPlata Saturday
The Tiger and Bulldog Junior High B teams split a pair.
The LaPlata Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-3 lead Saturday, but Brashear battled back to take an 11-7 lead into the locker room at half. Brashear maintained their lead during the 2nd half and picked up the win by a score of 19-14. Megan Taylor led Brashear with 8 points. Abby McKim added 7, and Chandi March and Abigail Wheeler had 2 points each. LaPlata was led by Emily Heissler with 6 points. Vanessa Mense, Taylor Bulington, and Mallory Citel each had 2, and Cassie Kimmel and Frannie Curtis had 1 point each.
In the boy's game, a pair of 3 pointers enabled LaPlata to take a 12-6 lead into half-time. LaPlata had an 11 point 3rd quarter, but Brashear battled back in the 4th coming up short by a score of 28-19. Hayden Fouch led LaPlata with 7. Taylor Herron, J.T. Allen, and Tyler Clay each had 5, and Justin Riggins, Dustin Groseclose, and Cole Wheeler each had 2 points. Brashear was led by Joe Clarkson with 7. Adam Songer and Hayden Coin each had 4, and Nick Thomas and Taren Treasure each had 2 points.
