Brashear and Marion County Split a Pair of Basketball Games Tuesday
In a rematch of a game that left the Lady Tigers 7 points short of victory earlier this season, the Lady Mustangs pulled out another 7 point win. The Tigers avenged an early season loss to the Mustangs.

The game continued to be close as the score after 3 quarters was 29 all. The 4th quarter saw Brashear take the lead midway, but fell behind late and were forced to foul to try to get back in the game. Marion County sank 7 4th quarter free throws to pick up the 46-39 win. Kimberly Elsea scored 15 for Brashear, Ashley Clarkson, Hailee Kelsey, and Chelsey Collop had 6 each, Christina Scudder added 4, and Jessi Hill scored 2 points. For Marion County, Taylor Spratt hit for 16, Morgan Spratt added 9, Jenny Mitchell had 7,Jordon Johnson had 5, Maggie Hastings and Ranay Sharpe each had 4 points, and Kayla Tuley scored 1 point.
The boy's game was a higher scoring affair as Brashear took a 16-15 lead after 1 quarter and held a 34-31 halftime lead. Marion County managed to take the lead 52-49 after 3 quarters, but a 19-2 scoring edge for Brashear during the 4th quarter sealed the 68-54 win for the Tigers. Matt Thomas led 3 Brashear players in double figures with 18. Ryan Ferdig and Kale Watson had 14 each, Kiley Watson had 9, Jacob Shipman added 7, and Justin Hazen scored 6 points.
