Brashear at Novinger Friday Night

For the second time in two nights, Brashear plays the homecoming spoiler.

On Thursday night, Brashear traveled to Bevier for their homecoming games and came away with a pair of wins. Friday night proved to be a repeat performance at Novinger’s homecoming. In the girls’ game, Brashear’s Hailee Kelsey put up 10 1st half points to stake the Lady Tigers to a 25-16 halftime lead. Her 14 point, 11 rebound double-double helped drive Brashear to a 47-34 win. Kimberly Elsea and Jessi Hill added 8 each, Chelsey Collop had 6, Christina Scudder had 5 points and 10 rebounds, Ashley Clarkson had 4, and Caroline Slavin scored 2 points. Novinger’s scorers were Katie Moore with 12, Kelli Moore had 6, and Sydney White, Anna Grgurich, Whitley Sandretto, and Katelyn Brawner had 4 points each.

The Brashear boys jumped out to a 14-5 lead after the 1st quarter and led 28-23 going into halftime. The Tigers outscored the Wildcats in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to pick up the 65-49 win. Ryan Ferdig led Brashear with 15, Jacob Shipman had 14, Kale Watson scored 9, Trae Treasure had 8, Justin Hazen and Kiley Watson had 6 each, David Anderson had 4, and Matt Thomas scored 3 points. For Novinger, Dakota Jacques had 10, Aric Luman and Evan Sthole had 9 each, Travis Gunnels and Cody Atchley added 6 each, Dodson had 5, and Tyler Rodman and Totsch had 2 points each.
