Macon County at Brashear Thursday
The Tigers and Lady Tigers pick up conference wins on Senior Night.
Midway through the 1st quarter, the Lady Tigers looked like they needed a wakeup call. Brashear was trailing Macon County 9-8 when it came in the form of a 17-0 run that extended into the early part of the 2nd quarter and effectively put the game away for good. Brashear led 31-18 at the half, 50-24 after 3 quarters and won 60-30. The Lady Tiger seniors made a good accounting of themselves as Kimberly Elsea scored 17, Ashley Clarkson had 10, and Chelsey Collop added 6. The non-senior scorers were Christina Scudder with 10, Hailee Kelsey with 9, and Caroline Slavin and Jessi Hill with 4 points each. For Macon County, Samantha Hogenson had 15, Amber Kitchen had 13, and Katie Prewitt scored 2 points.
The Brashear boys wasted no time running up a 13-2 lead to start the game. The Tigers led 19-9 after 1 quarter, 42-19 at the half, 63-31 after 3 quarters and got the win 70-35. Jacob Shipman and Kale Watson each had 13 to lead Brashear. Ryan Ferdig scored 12, Kiley Watson had 10, Matt Thomas had 8, Trae Treasure had 7, Koty Hayden had 5, and Justin Hazen scored 2 points. For Macon County, Joel Atha and Andy Thompson each had 9, Josh Bailey had 7, James Rowe added 4, and Zach Martin, Ross Roberts, and Josh Lusher scored 2 points each.
