Class 1 - District 6 Boys Semi-Finals From LaPlata Wednesday
Green City and Linn County faced off as did LaPlata and Brashear to see who would advance to the District title game Friday.
Brashear knew playing unbeaten LaPlata for the chance to advance to the district title game would be an uphill battle. Neverless, Brashear hit the ground running scoring first to lead 2-0. Brashear also led 4-3 and 6-5 before LaPlata put up a quick 7 points to jump ahead 12-6. Brashear was able to close to within 12-9 before the LaPlata scoring machine kicked into high gear leaving the Tigers trailing 43-21 at halftime. LaPlata went on the lead 62-33 after 3 quarters and advanced to the district title game with a 72-42 win. For Brashear, Jacob Shipman had 15, Kiley Watson had 7, Ryan Ferdig had 6, Matt Thomas added 5, Hunter Higgins had 3, and Justin Hazen, David Anderson, and Trae Treasure scored 2 points each. LaPlata was led by David Fouch with 18, Matt Fouch with 17, and Jordan Smith with 15. Dusty Baker added 7, Jesse Schrader had 6, Nick Lovingier had 4, Mike Eitel had 3, and Keaton Hamilton scored 2 points.
In the other boys semi-final game, Green City downed Linn County 68-48. Green City will face LaPlata Friday at 6:30 in the district championship game.
