The Brashear girls advance to face Novinger in Saturday's championship game. The boy's title game will feature LaPlata and Atlanta.
The Brashear boys came into Thursday's consolation semi-final game against Macon County looking for a little bit of revenge. Macon County had handed the Tigers a 38-33 loss on the Tiger home court back on October 29th. Macon County got on the board first and held a slim 10-8 lead after 1 period of play. The Raiders extended that lead to 15-8 in the first minute of the 2nd quarter, but Brashear mounted a comeback taking a 16-15 lead at the 2:30 minute mark and leading Macon County 18-17 at the half. Brashear extended their lead to 29-25 during the third quarter and picked up the win by a score of 46-25. Cody Snelling scored 21 for Brashear, Adam Songer had 7, Joe Clarkson scored 6 points, Nick Thomas had 4, and Dillon Redding, Joseph Woods, Zach Reeves, and Jay Scudder each scored 2 points. For Macon County, Jacob Klingsmith had 12, Tommy Moore scored 6, Emil McKim had 5, and Alex Porter scored 2 points.
The Brashear and Macon County girls had also met earlier this season with Brashear edging the Lady Raiders 34-33. This game was to be very different as the Lady Tigers scored the first 12 points. Macon County finally got on the board at the 2:33 minute mark of the 2nd quarter, but Brashear took a 16-3 lead into halftime. Macon County made a modest comeback in the 4th quarter, but Brashear still picked up the win by a final score of 24-15. For Brashear, Shelby Rogers had 8 points, Katie Smith and Kristen Love had 6 points each, and Macy Rogers scored 4 points. Macon County's Sara Duncan, Hanna Souther, and Cassandra Peterson each scored 4 points, Abby Lusher had 2, and Holly Hall had 1 point.
In the other Thursday games, the LaPlata girls defeated Green City 42-24 to advance to the consolation game and Atlanta topped Green City 36-24 to advance to the boys championship game.
