Atlanta Junior High Basketball Tournament Saturday night results.

The Atlanta boys and Novinger girls take 1st. The Green City boys take 3rd place.

In the girls title game, Brashear and Novinger stayed close with Novinger holding a slim 8-7 lead after the 1st quarter of play. Brashear got buckets from 4 different players in the 2nd to take a 15-10 lead into the locker room. The Lady Tigers continued to outscore Novinger 7-6 in the 3rd quarter to lead 22-16. The 4th quarter turned into a disaster for Brashear as 4 players fouled out putting Novinger on the free throw line for 8 or their 17 4th-quarter points and giving the Lady Wildcats the 33-29 win. Brashear was led by Macy Rogers with 13 points, Kristen Love had 6, Katie Smith had 5, Abigail Wheeler and Shelby Rogers had 2 points each, and Sydney Slaven had 1 point. For Novinger, Becca White had 18, Samantha Daniels scored 8, Renatta Blackorby had 5, and Chloe Hubbard had 2 points.

In the boys' games, Atlanta defeated LaPlata 39-31 for 1st place, and Green City downed Bucklin 42-37 for 3rd place.
