Brashear Baseball Hosts Green City Monday April 7, 2008
The Tigers sweep a pair of games from the Gophers.
In the varsity game, Brashear jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning of play and scored another 6 runs in the 2nd on their way to a 19-2 win. Brashear starting pitcher Kale Watson settled in and kept the Gophers off the scoreboard until they scored a run in the 3rd. Koty Hayden and Cody Snelling each pitched an inning of relief. Watson led the Brashear offense with 2 hits including a home run. Jacob Shipman, and Hayden Coin also had 2 hits each and Koty Hayden, Kiley Watson, Michael McKim, and Brandon Gordon also had hits.
The JV game was a see-saw battle as Green City scored a pair of runs to hold a 2-1 lead after one inning. Brashear put 5 runs across in the 2nd to lead 6-2. In the top of the 3rd, Green City scored 5 times to retake the lead 7-6. Brashear bounced back once more in the bottom of the 3rd as Cody Snelling hit a 2-out, 2-run homer to give the Tigers an 8-7 win.
