Bevier Baseball at Brashear April 23, 2008
The host Tigers sweep a Varsity/JV doubleheader.
The Brashear Tigers put up 4 runs in the 1st inning and extended their lead to 7-0 before Bevier got on the board in the top of the 4th with 3 runs. Both teams continued to add to their totals, but Brashear ended up on top 13-7. Matt Thomas and Kiley Watson both homered for the Tigers with Thomas gathering 3 hits on the night. Justin Hazen, Jacob Shipman, and Kiley Watson had 2 hits each, and Kale Watson also had a hit. Hazen and Kiley Watson each drove in 3 runs, Shipman drove in 2, and Thomas, Kale Watson, Hayden Coin, and Brandon Gordon all had rbi’s. Thomas was the winning pitcher going the distance and striking out 11.
In the JV game, Brashear jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Bevier came back to take a 4-2 lead. Brashear managed to push across 3 runs in the bottom of the third to claim a 5-4 win.
