Scotland County Hosts Brashear Tuesday, August 26, 2008

The two Lady Tiger teams split in a high-scoring varsity/JV double-header.

The JV game was a 3-inning contest with the host Scotland County Lady Tigers getting the win 13-5. The varsity game was also a run-fest with the 2 teams scoring a combined 31 runs. Brashear got on the board with 8 runs in the top of the 1st, then Scotland County answered with 3 runs in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd and 4 in the 4th. It was anybody's game after that with the outcome finally being decided when Brashear's Tabby Killen drove in a pair of runs with a bloop single in the top of the 7th to put Brashear up for good 16-15. Macy Rogers got the win pitching in relief of Cierra Hines. Brashear is now 1-0 on the season while Scotland County falls to 0-2 after suffering a Monday night loss in their season opener with Highland. Brashear will host Linn County Friday night in a conference baseball/softball double-header.
