Brashear boys and Bevier girls pick up wins to advance to Saturday's championship games.

The Brashear Lady Tigers faced off against an upset minded Bevier squad Wednesday night in the girls' championship semi-finals. 7th seeded Bevier had already knocked off 2nd seeded LaPlata on Monday night. The Lady Wildcats jumped out to an 11-7 lead after the first quarter and led 20-17 at halftime. Brashear came out strong in the third quarter outscoring Bevier 15-11 to grab a 32-31 lead. Brashear's momentum ran out in the 4th however as Bevier pulled away for a 46-38 upset win. For Brashear, Macy Rogers scored 17 points, Shelby Rogers had 8, Stephanie Elsea and Emily Ladwig had 5 points each, and Caroline Slavin scored 3 points. For Bevier, Valle Wilson scored 12 points, Cheyenne Shelmadine had 11, Stephanie Ashenfelter added 9, Chandra Shurvington and Dominica Prokup scored 6 each, and Emily Griffin scored 2 points.

In the boys' championship semi-final game, Brashear jumped out to an early lead and was up 14-7 after one quarter and the Tigers led 30-20 at the half. Milan made some defensive adjustments in the third and held Brashear to 4 points in the third quarter while scoring 13 to close the gap to 34-33. Milan tied the game 10 seconds into the final quarter and took the lead on the next possession. Brashear finally battled back to regain the lead with 3:30 left to play. The Tigers slowed the game down, forcing Milan to foul. Brashear sank 17 out of 20 free throws in the 4th quarter to pull out the win 55-46. Trae Treasure led the Tigers with 17 points, Justin Hazen and Kiley Watson scored 11 points each, Anthony Ambrosia had 8, Matt Thomas had 4, Ryan Ferdig added 3, and Cody Snelling scored 1 point. For Milan, Logan Hill scored 18, Bryce Richardson added 13, Cooper Bankus had 6, Kyle May-Rolley added 4, Cody Peterie had 3, and Tyler Morehead scored 2 points.

In the girls' consolation semi-final game, LaPlata downed Novinger 49-33 and Novinger topped Green City 69-59 in the boys' consolation semi-final game.
