Brashear Baseball at LaPlata September 3, 2010

The Bulldogs sweep the non-conference double-header.

Brashear traveled to LaPlata Friday night for a Varsity/JV baseball double-header. Things looked good for Brashear at the start of the game as Adam Songer drew a leadoff walk. Things went downhill from there as Nick Thomas popped out and Songer was doubled-off and the Tigers came away scoreless in the 1st. Meanwhile, LaPlata scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st and another 2 in the 2nd. Brashear looked to score again in the 4th as Nick Thomas reached on an error and Jay Scudder drew a 2-out walk, but 3 strikeouts ruined the rally and Brashear remained scoreless. LaPlata put the 5-inning game away in the 4th as they scored 5 more to take the 10-0 win. Cody Snelling and Hayden Coin pitched for Brashear and Hayden Fouch pitched the no-hit shutout for LaPlata with Tyler Clay pitching the 5th inning.

The LaPlata team won the JV game 4-0.
