Brashear vs North Shelby in Softball District Semi-Finals

The Brashear Lady Tigers faced the North Shelby Lady Raiders Thursday night in the district semi-finals. North Shelby turned leadoff doubles in the 1st and 2nd innings and a 1-out double in the 3rd into single runs in each of the first 3 innings to take a 3-0 lead. Meanwhile, Brashear sent only the minimum number of batters to the plate until Stephanie Elsea singled with 2 outs in the 3rd. Brashear held North Shelby scoreless in the 4th, but the Lady Raiders scored 2 more in the 5th and 3 in the 6th as Brashear piled up 6 errors. Meanwhile, the Lady Tiger batters were retired in order from the 4th inning on giving North Shelby an 8-0 win. Stephanie Elsea had Brashear's lone hit. For North Shelby, Madison Arnett and Whitney Otto had 2 hits each, and Rachel Echternacht, Jessica Linberger, Elizabeth Linberger, and Ashton Reitz all had hits. Cierra Hines took the loss for Brashear, striking out 9, and Jessica Linberger picked up the win for North Shelby striking out 8. North Shelby advances to Saturday's championship game where they will face Knox County who defeated Scotland County 1-0 in 8 innings.

Brashear finished their season with a 14-4 record.
