Atlanta JH Basketball 1st Round Results November 9, 2010

The Brashear girls faced Macon County in the 1st round game of the Atlanta JH Tournament. Macon County took a 9-5 lead after 1 quarter and led 17-8 at halftime. Brashear managed to pull within 10 in the 4th quarter, but Macon County held on to win 35-18. Ashley Moncrief scored 5 points for Brashear, Allison Thompson had 4, Skylar Housman and Rachel Heimer had 3 each, Alexa Acton had 2 and Mandy Taylor scored 1 point. For Macon County, Bailey Ratliff scored 14, Kailey Grinder had 11, Katie Moore had 6, and Teana Nolte and Megan Liebhart scored 2 points each.

The Brashear boys played Bevier in a 1st round game. Bevier exploded for a 22-4 lead after 1 quarter and a 33-4 lead at halftime. Brashear had their best quarter in the 3rd when they scored 13 points, but fell to Bevier by a final score of 52-20. Jacob Reeves led Brashear scoring with 11 points, Brody Henrichs had 3, and Chance Hill, Sam Smith, and Luke Morrow had 2 points each. For Bevier, Jesse Ashenfelter scored 16 points, Aaron Peter had 12, Seth Shurvington and Colby Peukert had 6 each, Andrew Peter and Caleb Richardson had 5 each, and Luke Long scored 2 points.
