Linn County Baseball at Brashear March 31, 2011
The Tigers ride a 6-run 3rd inning to a 12-5 win.
The Tigers allowed some sloppy defense to put them behind 2-0 after the 1st half inning. Things turned around in the bottom of the frame as Adam Songer drew a walk and Cody Snelling homered to even the score at 2 all. Linn County would retake a 4-2 lead in the 2nd before Brashear exploded for 6 runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back. Curtis Blakely got things going in the Brashear 3rd as he was hit by a pitch. Adam Songer doubled, Nick Bradshaw reached on an error, then Cody Snelling brought in Blakely with a sac fly. Nick Thomas drew a walk, then Jay Scudder hit a ball that eluded the 2nd baseman driving in Songer and Bradshaw. Hayden Housman was up next and took one out for a 3-run homer to put Brashear up 8-4. Blakely got things going again in the 4th with a leadoff walk, Adam Songer singled, then Cody Snelling blasted a 3 run homer to put Brashear up 11-4. The Tigers added another run in the 5th as Luke Morrow singled and Nick Bradshaw drove him home. The final score was 12-5. Cody Snelling had a pair of homers and 6 rbi's with Hayden Housman adding another dinger for Brashear. Adam Songer had 2 hits and Nick Bradshaw, Jay Scudder, Hayden Housman, and Luke Morrow also had hits. Snelling picked up the win for Brashear striking out 11 in 6 innings. Adam Songer pitched 1 inning of relief. Belzer, Wood, and Bookout pitched for Linn County.
