Brashear vs North Shelby in District Baseball May 16, 2011
The Brashear Tigers came into districts as the number 3 seed facing number 6 seed North Shelby. Both teams got runners aboard in the early innings, but neither team scored until the bottom of the 3rd. Luke Morrow got things started for Brashear with a single, Adam Songer and Nick Bradshaw reached on errors to load the bases. Cody Snelling singled bringing in Morrow and Songer, Hayden Coin hit a sac fly scoring Bradshaw, Hayden Housman reached on an error, Jay Scudder doubled and Joe Clarkson singled to give Brashear a 6-0 lead. Brashear would score 2 more in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th to end the game early by a score of 10-0. For Brashear, Hayden Coin tripled, Hayden Housman and Jay Scudder doubled, and Adam Songer, Nick Bradshaw, Cody Snelling, Joe Clarkson, and Luke Morrow had hits. Snelling and Scudder drove in 2 runs each with Bradshaw, Coin, Housman, and Clarkson having rbi's. For North Shelby, Jackson had the lone hit. Hayden Coin got the start and picked up the win for Brashear going 5 innings while striking out 8 and allowing only 1 hit. Nick Thomas pitched one inning of relief. Thrasher took the loss for North Shelby.
