Macon County at Brashear October 31, 2011

The Tigers and Raiders split a pair of JH basketball games.

In the girls' game, Brashear held a slim 5-4 lead after one quarter of play, but extended the lead to 18-4 at halftime on their way to a 38-14 win. Kylie Williams, Allison Thompson, and Mandy Taylor led Brashear scoring with 6 points each, Kacie Mihalevich, Skylar Housman, and Caitlee Hall had 4 each, and Sidney Sykes, Alli Garrett, Abby Hall, and Saydie Potter scored 2 points each. For Macon County, Bailey Johnson scored 8 points, Lydia Malloy added 4, and Megan Liebhart scored 2 points.

The fate of the Brashear boys' team was decided in the 1st quarter as Macon County jumped out to a 21-2 lead. From that point on, Brashear outscored the Raiders 10-8 in the second quarter and 12-6 in the 3rd quarter and closed the margin to single digits in the 4th quarter before falling 43-30. Jacob Reeves scored 9 points for Brashear, Chance Hill added 6, Patrick Jochimsen had 5, Gabe Thomas had 4, and Colt Acton, Marshall Goff, and Brody Henrichs scored 2 points each. For Macon County, Ethan Pullium scored 12 points, Zach Duncan had 11, Brenden McKim added 8, Brady Duncan had 6, Curtis Mossbarger had 4, and Dakota Purdy scored 2 points.
