Brashear at Linn County December 6, 2011
The Brashear Tigers travelled to Linn County Tuesday night for a Tri-County Conference basketball double-header. The Linn County Lady Mustangs took an early lead and were up 12-10 after one quarter of play. The margin had widened to 20-15 at halftime and Brashear trailed 32-21 after 3 quarters. During the final period, Brashear rallied, but fell short by a score of 39-32. Shelby Salter scored 9 points for Brashear, Olivia Thompson had 8, Ashley Moncrief had 6, Katie Smith had 4, Meredith Thomas had 3, and Allison Thompson scored 2 points. For Linn County, Maci Hullinger scored 18 points, Kassandra Harrington added 9, and Cammie Ward, Kerstin Wilson, Lauren Russell, Kelsey Barker, Mindy Hayes, and Laura Hardy scored 2 points each.
In the boys' game, Linn County got on the scoreboard early in a big way and never looked back. The Mustangs held a 20-6 lead after the 1st quarter and were up 33-13 at halftime. The 2nd half was more of the same as Linn County pulled away for a 59-27 win. TJ Harrelson and Taren Treasure each scored 6 points for Brashear, Hayden Housman added 5, Joseph Woods, Jacob Reeves, and Joe Clarkson had 3 points each, and Nick Bradshaw scored 1 point. For Linn County, Jarrett Alexander scored 15 points, Ty Stillwell added 13, Josh Allen had 11, Bryant O'Kane had 10, Lucas Woodside scored 6, and Spencer Hostetter and Logan Brinkley scored 2 points each.
