Brashear at Schuyler County January 6, 2012
The Schuyler County Lady Rams took the early lead over Brashear by a score of 9-5 after one quarter, but Brashear hung around and trailed by only 22-16 at halftime. The game stayed close throughout the 2nd half with Schuyler County leading 35-28 after 3 quarters. As the clock ticked down in the final quarter, Brashear closed the gap to 3 points and missed a shot that would have pulled them within 1, but the Lady Rams held on to get the win 45-40. Meredith Thomas scored 10 points for Brashear, Shelby Salter added 8, Alexa Acton had 5, Olivia Thompson and Katie Smith had 4 each, and Ashley Moncrief, Chandi March, and Nikki Moncrief scored 2 points each. For Schuyler County, Caley Sessions scored 19 points, Cecily Reese had 13, Whitney McElhinney had 6, Alyssa Buckallew had 3, and Nikki Rowland and Mallory Haley scored 2 points each.
The boys' game wasn't as close as Schuyler County jumped out to a 14-2 first quarter lead and were up 38-11 at halftime. The Rams led 55-21 after 3 quarters and won by a final score of 62-26. Hayden Housman and Taren Treasure each scored 11 points for Brashear, Jacob Reeves had 2, and Joseph Woods scored 1 point. For Schuyler County, Garrett Wilson scored 15 points, Christien Henderson had 10, Tyler Sullivan and Tad Steen scored 9 each, Jordan Wheeler had 6, Joey Antal had 5, Zach Schmitter had 4, and Brandon Wuebker and Dalton Shively scored 2 points each.
