North Shelby Tournament Friday January 20, 2012
Knox County and Brashear met in the boys consolation game Friday night at the North Shelby Tournament. The Eagles got off to a quick start and led Brashear 20-8 after one quarter and 39-18 at halftime. The Knox County defensive pressure continued to take it's toll on Brashear in the 2nd half as the Eagles rolled to a 68-36 win. Joe Clarkson scored 15 points for Brashear, Hayden Housman had 10, Taren Treasure added 8, Jeremy Barnes had 2, and Joseph Woods scored 1 point. For Knox County, Royce Poore scored 17 points, Leighton McCabe had 15, Kellen Gillaspy had 10, Donovan Edwards had 8, Sharri Edwards added 6, Brady Johnson had 5, Joe Englebrecht and Andrew Hunolt had 3 each, and Jesse Miller scored 2 points.
In the girls' consolation game, LaPlata defeated Schuyler County 55-35. Knox County beat North Shelby 51-32 in the girls' 3rd place game, and LaPlata took the boys' 3rd place game, coming from behind to defeat Scotland County 70-62 in overtime.
