Brashear at Bucklin February 14, 2012
The Brashear Lady Tigers took the early lead in Tuesday night's game with Bucklin. Brashear led 17-2 after one quarter and 33-9 at halftime. Brashear continued to outscore Bucklin in the 2nd half and won by a final margin of 53-14. Meredith Thomas scored 16 points for Brashear, Chandi March was also in double figures with 10, Ashley Moncrief added 8, Shelby Salter had 7, Miranda Creason had 6 and Olivia Thompson, Alexa Acton, and Katie Sweet scored 2 points each. For Bucklin, Kelsey Almond scored 5 points, Rachel Sattman and Kaity Gall had 3 each, Jessica DePriest had 2, and Katlin Elam scored 1 point.
The boys' game was a closer contest as Brashear took a 12-7 first quarter lead only to see Bucklin come roaring back to lead 26-22 at the half. Brashear retook a 36-33 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter and went on to win 54-41. Joe Clarkson scored 23 points for Brashear, Taren Treasure added 18, Hayden Housman had 9, and Nick Bradshaw and Joseph Woods scored 2 points each. For Bucklin, Ron Mellon and Anthony Kitchen scored 14 points each, Lake McCollum added 9, and Jacob Maldonado and Tim Akins scored 2 points each.
