Novinger at Brashear February 17, 2012
The Brashear and Novinger girls met Friday for a rematch of a game during the Brashear Tournament. Novinger came out on top in that meeting and looked to continue the trend as they led 12-8 after one quarter and 24-21 at halftime. Brashear stepped up their game in the 3rd and ended that quarter leading 33-31. Novinger came back to take the lead in the 4th and even though the game was close, Novinger held on to win 47-43. Shelby Salter scored 11 points for Brashear, Meredith Thomas added 10, Katie Smith and 9, Olivia Thompson had 7, and Ashley Moncrief, Alexa Acton, and Chandi March scored 2 points each. For Novinger, Chloe Hubbard scored 16 points, Sierra Jacques had 11, Jentry Rogers scored 7, Emily Reardon had 6, Rachel Frost had 3, and Maria Gunnels and Mallory Singleton scored 2 points each.
In the boys' game, Novinger jumped out to a 23-12 lead after one quarter and were up 52-20 at the half. Novinger continued to pile up the points in the 2nd half and pulled away for an 86-33 win. Joe Clarkson scored 16 points for Brashear, Taren Treasure had 13, and Joseph Woods and Hayden Housman scored 2 points each. For Novinger, Trevor Stocks scored 25, Chris Smith added 23, Jonathan Novinger had 15, Keaton Tade scored 7, Blake Smith and Justin Klingsmith had 6 each, and Trent Rodman scored 4 points.
