The Brashear and Marion County boys met in first round district play Monday. The two teams played a competitive 1st quarter with Marion County holding a 12-7 lead. Both teams picked up the pace in the 2nd quarter with Brashear adding 13 more points, but Marion County exploded for 34 points to take a 48-20 lead into halftime. Marion County extended their lead to 70-29 after 3 quarters and won by a final score of 77-39. Joe Clarkson scored 14 points for Brashear, Joseph Woods and Taren Treasure had 10 each, Hayden Housman had 4, and Sam Smith scored 1 point. For Marion County, J.J. Chatfield scored 18 points, Kason Spratt had 15, Clay Pollard added 12, Reed Plunkett and Luke Stratton scored 8 each, Logan Krigbaum had 7, Brandon Atteberry had 5, and Konner Bridgeman scored 4 points.
