Knox County at Brashear January 28, 2013
Brashear hosted the Knox County Eagles for the Brashear Homecoming games Monday night. The Lady Eagles jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter of play and were up 33-10 at halftime. Brashear was unable to close the gap in the 2nd half and Knox County pulled away for a 52-17 win. Olivia Thompson and Meredith Thomas scored 6 points each for Brashear, Shelby Salter and Allison Thompson had 2 each, and Nikkie Woods scored 1 point. For Knox County, Lauren Dale scored 12 points, Alex Hamlin and McKaiya Miller had 8 each, Devin Gudehus scored 6, Amy Gudehus had 5, Keeley Strange and Sarah Dooley had 4 each, Shanna Elder had 3, and Katlyn Kent scored 2 points.
The boys' game paired Brashear with the Knox County JV boys. Knox County took a 10-7 lead after one quarter and led 24-16 at halftime. Brashear closed the gap to 36-34 after 3 quarters, but Knox County held off the late Tiger charge for the 52-43 win. Hayden Housman scored 25 points for Brashear, Gabe Thomas and Jacob Reeves had 7 each, and Luke Morrow and Chance Hill scored 2 points each. Knox County was pace by Julian Williams with 15 points, Joe Engelbrecht added 10, Kenny Wolford and Joey McCauley scored 6 points each, Ceddy Boone had 5, Noah Williams and Zach Boatman had 4 each, and Logan Allen scored 2 points.
