The Brashear Tigers and LaPlata Bulldogs met Friday night in 1st round district baseball play. Brashear's pitching and defense held LaPlata to single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, and a pair of runs in the 4th, but the wheels came off in the 5th as LaPlata scored 6 runs. Meanwhile, LaPlata's Tanner Riggins went to work on the mound recording strikeout after strikeout. His total eventually reached 14 as he held Brashear scoreless in a 5-inning 10-0 game. Hayden Housman and Nick Bradshaw had Brashear's only hits. Baylon Belt, Tanner Riggins, Matt Safely, and Dylan Slaughter had hits for LaPlata. Nick Bradshaw took the loss for Brashear with Hayden Housman pitching in relief. Tanner Riggins recorded the win for LaPlata.

In other 1st round action, Marion County defeated North Shelby 12-4. Marion County will face Atlanta Monday night and LaPlata will play Novinger.
