Brashear Baseball and Softball at Green City October 3, 2013
The Brashear Tiger baseball and softball teams visited Green City Thursday night for their final conference games of the year. The Lady Tigers rode a dominant pitching performance by Alexa Acton to a 5-0 win to clinch 2nd place in the Tri-County Conference. Acton stuck out 12 on the night. Brashear got on the scoreboard with single runs in the 3rd and 5th innings and pushed across 3 runs in the 6th. Alexa Acton had 3 hits for Brashear, Skylar Housman had 2, and Sidney Sykes also had a hit. Howard, Dolan, and Smith had hits for Green City. Embree and Phillips pitched for Green City.
In the baseball game, Green City got all the offense they would need as they pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the 1st. They added 4 more in the 2nd, and 5 in the 3rd on their way to a 14-1 win. Brashear's run came in the 3rd as Gabe Thomas drove in Chance Hill. Gabe Thomas and Jacob Bleything had hits for Brashear. Barto, McCarty, Brundage, Williams, McDonald, and Riddle had hits for Green City. Luke Morrow and Jacob Bleything pitched for Brashear. McCarty got the win for Green City.
