The Brashear JH basketball teams started regular season play in Atlanta Monday night. Atlanta jumped out to a 13-4 lead after one quarter and led 21-10 at halftime. Atlanta continued to outscore Brashear in the 2nd half and won the game 35-17. Caitlee Hall scored 7 points for Brashear, Mechalia Potter added 4, Hailey Lawrence had 3, and Kacie Mihahevich scored 2 points. For Atlanta, Ashtin Grigsby scored 12 points, Molly Waddle had 8, Angel Schweiter had 5, Danielle Welch had 4, and Rachel Pickens, Aleassa Hruska, and Jordan Teter had 2 points each.

The Atlanta boys got their running game started early and led 26-4 at the half. Brashear continued to struggle in the 2nd half as Atlanta pulled away for a 39-6 win. Wyatt Potter scored 4 points for Brashear with Aden Zentz having 2 points. For Atlanta, Tyler Thurman scored 21 points, Dylan Downey had 7, Eric Baker, Andy Watson, Caleb Willis, Corey Rhodes, and Chase Gray had 2 points each, and Jareen Collier scored 1 point.
