Brashear at Linn County December 10, 2013

The Brashear Tigers were on the road Tuesday for a pair of Tri-County Conference games at Linn County. Linn County scored the first 9 points of the girls game, but Brashear answered with 8 straight points of their own to make the 1st quarter score 9-8 in favor of Linn County. The Lady Mustangs scored another 9 points in the 2nd quarter, but cold shooting by Brashear left them trailing 18-10 at the half. Brashear outscored their opponents 10-9 in the third quarter, but a 4th quarter surge gave Linn County the 42-28 win. Mandy Taylor scored 7 points for Brashear, Abby Hall had 6, Skylar Housman had 4, Robbyn Wagster had 3, and Ashley Moncrief, Abi Kerby, and Meredith Thomas scored 2 points each. For Linn County, Kerstin Wilson scored 11 points, Alexis Miller added 9, Megan Schreiner had 4, Kiley Stillwell and Sydney Moore had 3 each, and Emily Schreiner and Britane Hubbard scored 2 points each.

The Linn County boys took control of the game early as they posted a 22-2 lead after one quarter. Brashear matched Linn County's 13 second quarter points with 11 of their own, leaving the halftime score at 35-13 in favor of the Mustangs. The Tigers never managed to close the gap in the 2nd half as Linn County went on to win 59-26. Patrick Jochimsen scored 7 points for Brashear, Luke Morrow and Jacob Reeves added 6 each, Devin Morrison, Colt Acton, and Chance Hill had 2 each, and Jacob Bleything scored 1 point. The Mustangs were paced by Tristen Creason with 20 points, Anthony McCollum added 11, Elisha Waltz had 8, Logan Brinkley scored 7, Alec Finney had 6, James Davis had 3, and Cole Hullinger and Cameron Creason scored 2 points each.
