Brashear at Green City January 28, 2014

The Brashear and Green City girls came out playing some tough defense in Tuesday night's game with Green City holding a 10-4 lead after one quarter. Green City got on track in the 2nd quarter and increased their lead to 26-10 at halftime. Although Brashear wasn't about to make up any ground in the 2nd half, they kept playing hard and fell to Green City 47-28. Abby Hall scored 6 points for Brashear, Meredith Thomas had 5, Abi Kerby and Sidney Sykes had 4 each, Kylie Williams, Mandy Taylor, and Robbyn Wagster had 2 each, and Skylar Housman scored 1 point. For Green City, Raeann Kilgore scored 12 points, Alicia Albrecht added 11, Sonja Ward and Nikita Powell had 6 each, Sammy Banner scored 5, Shawnee Noland, Blythe LaFaver, and Kelsey Howard had 2 each, and Nicolette Embree scored 1 point.

A smothering press powered the Green City boys to a 26-6 first quarter lead and the Gophers added another 19 points in the 2nd quarter to take a 45-17 lead into halftime. Green City continued to outscore Brashear in the 2nd half and pulled away for a 77-33 win. Chance Hill scored 11 points for Brashear, Jacob Reeves had 8, Devin Morrison had 5, Colt Acton and Jacob Bleything had 4 each, and Gabe Thomas scored 1 point. For Green City, Zach Powell scored 11 points, Wes Straley, Keagan Franey, and Jared Brundage had 10 each, Michael Riddle and Hadley Williams scored 6 each, Jacob Chase had 5, Zach Ayers had 4, Bradley Heath, Kerby Barnes, and Carter King had 3 each, Johnathan Kensey and Tyler Harp had 2 points each, and Cameron Albrecht scored 1 point.
