Brashear Baseball at Bevier May 1, 2014

Wet field conditions in Brashear Thursday made the Tigers the home team on Bevier's drier field. Both teams scored single runs in the 1st inning, but then a defensive struggle ensued that lasted until Bevier broke through with 3 runs in the top of the 6th. Brashear got one run back in the bottom of the 6th and had the bases loaded with 1 out, but couldn't push across any more runs. Bevier added another insurance run in the 7th and held on for the 5-2 win. Luke Baker had 3 hits for Brashear, Jacob Bleything had 2, and Gabe Thomas had a hit. Thomas got the start for Brashear going 6 innings and surrendering 4 runs, only 1 earned while striking out 9. Chance Hill pitched the 7th in relief.
