The Brashear basketball teams traveled to the NCMC Holiday Hoops tournament December 23 where they played Newtown-Harris. The Brashear girls fell behind 10-5 after one quarter and were down 20-14 at halftime. The Lady Tigers were still within 28-21 after 3 quarters, but Newtown-Harris went on to win by a final score of 37-23. Mandy Taylor scored 13 points for Brashear, Caitlee Hall, Abi Kerby, Allison Thompson, and Hailey Lawrence had 2 each, and Abby Hall and Skylar Housman scored 1 point each.

The Brashear boys jumped out to an 18-8 lead after one quarter and were up 39-17 at the half. Brashear never let up in the 2nd half as they pulled away for a 67-27 win. Gabe Thomas led the Brashear scoring with 19 points, Patrick Jochimsen added 17, Chance Hill had 14, Colt Acton had 10, and Ty Gottman scored 7 points. The Brashear teams will host Schuyler County January 9.
