Brashear and Bevier met Friday night in Bevier for a pair of Tri-County Conference basketball games. The girls' game was nip and tuck throughout the first half with the score knotted at 22-all at halftime. Brashear held Bevier to only 7 points in the 2nd half as they pulled away for a 45-29 win. Allison Thompson scored 13 points for Brashear, Mandy Taylor had 10, Abby Hall added 7, Abi Kerby had 6, Caitlee Hall scored 4, Hailey Lawrence and Skylar Housman had 2 each, and Sidney Sykes scored 1 point.
The Bevier boys raced out to an early lead as they outscored Brashear 26-2 in the first quarter. Brashear started to get some offense going in the 2nd quarter, but Bevier held a 45-15 lead at half-time. The teams were pretty evenly matched in the 2nd half with Bevier winning by a final score 68-37. Chance Hill scored 16 points for Brashear, Colt Acton had 9, Jacob Reeves added 6, and Ty Gottman, Patrick Jochimsen, and Gabe Thomas scored 2 points each.
