Brashear faced LaPlata in the first round of district baseball Monday night. The Tigers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Colt Acton had a leadoff single, Jacob Bleything was hit by a pitch, and Gabe Thomas singled putting Brashear ahead 2-0. LaPlata answered with a run in the bottom of the 1st. Brashear held onto the lead until a pair of runs in the bottom of the 3rd put LaPlata on top 3-2. LaPlata would score single runs in the 4th and 5th to win by a final score of 5-2. Colt Acton and Gabe Thomas had 2 hits each for Brashear. Gabe Thomas got the start giving up 1 earned run in 4 and 2/3 innings while striking out 6. Chance Hill pitched 1 and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while striking out 2 batters.
