Novinger at Brashear October 2, 2015
Novinger visited Brashear Friday for the last conference baseball and softball of the season. The softball game was too close to call in the early going with Novinger leading 6-5 after 2 innings. From that point on, the game was all Brashear as the Lady Tigers pulled away for a 19-9 win. Sidney Sykes had 4 hits for Brashear, Abi Kerby, Hailey Lawrence, and Harli Mihalevich had 3 hits each, Mandy Taylor had 2 hits, and Skylar Housman and Hannah Reeves also had hits. Sidney Sykes got the win, striking out 8.
The boys game was also a close one in the early innings. Novinger got on the scoreboard first to take the lead. Brashear got on the scoreboard in the third as Dalton Hocker drew a one-out walk and Jacob Bleything followed that with a homerun. Brashear scored another run when Byron Hines was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, driving in Jacob Bleything who had also been hit by a pitch. Brashear's scoring wasn't enough as Novinger went on to win 11-3. Jacob Bleything went 6 innings for Brashear, giving up only 3 earned runs. Colt Acton pitched the 7th in relief.
