Brashear Baseball/Softball at Meadville September 2, 2016

The Tigers made the long road trip to Meadville Friday night. The girls got on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the 1st, but Meadville took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the frame. Brashear closed the deficit to 3-2 with a run in the top of the 6th, but Meadville scored 6 in the bottom of the 6th. Brashear rallied in the top of the 7th but fell short by a score of 9-5. Alexa Higgins and Harli Mihalovich had 3 hits each for Brashear, with Emily Mason, Averi Acton, Michelia Potter, and Bailey Moncrief also having hits. Averi Acton got the start with Hannah Reeves pitching in relief.

The baseball game was a no-doubter all the way as Brashear coasted to a 21-1 win. The Tigers scored 2 in the 1st and another 6 in the 2nd and never looked back. Meanwhile, Jacob Bleything kept Meadville scoreless for 3 innings. The bullpen of Aden Zentz and Zane Sykes were also effective allowing only 1 run in the 5 inning game. Colt Acton had 4 hits for Brashear, Jacob Bleything had 3 hits, Zane Sykes, Breht Place, and Wyatt Reeves had 2 each, and John Gerhold and Drew Ford also had hits.
