Brashear Varsity Basketball Hosts Marion County November 21, 2016

The Brashear Tigers kicked off their varsity basketball seasons 
Monday as they hosted the Marion County Mustangs. Marion County 
came ready to put up some offense and scored 20 points in the 1st 
quarter and 14 in the 2nd to take a 34-26 lead at halftime. Brashear 
closed the gap to 47-43 after 3 quarters and took their first lead 
of the game with just over 3 minutes left in the game. Despite being 
down to 4 players due to foul trouble, Marion County retook the lead 
and held on for a 61-59 win.

The Tigers and Mustangs had a very competitive boys game. Marion County 
held a 13-9 lead after one quarter and were up 25-20 at halftime. Although 
Brashear hung in there and kept it close during the 2nd half, and got within 
4 points, they just couldn't close the gap as Marion County hung on for a 
59-52 win.
